Two arrested in Providence on separate warrants following traffic stops

PROVIDENCE — Two individuals were taken into custody by state troopers on consecutive days in Providence following traffic stops that led to the discovery of outstanding warrants, authorities said.

At 2:20 p.m. on Oct. 19, troopers from the Scituate Barracks arrested Darlings Tiburico, 46, of Providence, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Simple Assault-Domestic, which was issued by the Providence Police Department.

The arrest occurred after a vehicle stop on Killingly Street.

Tiburico was processed at State Police Headquarters and then handed over to the Providence Police Department.

In a related incident on Oct. 20 at 12:15 a.m., Abel Jarvis Carrera, 29, also of Providence, was apprehended by troopers for a Sixth District Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Obstructing a Police Officer in Execution of Duty from the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks.

Carrera was stopped on Broadway Street and subsequently transported to State Police Headquarters for processing.

He was later transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.
