Springfield man arrested on warrant following overdose call

SPRINGFIELD — A local man was arrested on an in-state governor’s warrant after police responded to a possible overdose incident on Oct. 12.

Springfield Police Department officers, along with members from the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department, were dispatched to Furnace Street at 5:12 p.m. where they encountered Anthony Hutchinson at the scene.

Officer Freeman, who was among the responding officers, conducted a warrant check on Hutchinson, revealing an active warrant for his arrest.

Hutchinson was taken into custody without incident and was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.

The investigating team included Officer Freeman, Sergeant Fitzgibbons, Officer Kelcey, and Sergeant Herb from the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department.
