NORTH BRANFORD — A pickup truck smashed into the front of a local business establishment on Foxon Road Monday morning, prompting a rapid response from emergency services.
At 11:22 a.m., the North Branford Police Department (NBPD) was alerted to an accident at the North Branford Patco, located at 271 Foxon Road.
Upon arrival, officers along with the North Branford Fire Department (NBFD) found a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 that had barreled through the glass front of the store, coming to a halt partway inside the structure.
The driver of the truck was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with minor injuries.
There were no other injuries reported in the incident.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
The North Branford Building Official has also been called to the scene to assess the extent of the damage to the Patco building.
Chief of Police James Lovelace expressed his gratitude for the swift action taken by first responders and emphasized the importance of community safety.
He also expressed hope for a quick recovery for the affected business.
