RISP apprehend two fugitives on separate charges

PROVIDENCE — In a coordinated effort with various law enforcement units, the ACI Investigations Unit successfully arrested two individuals on outstanding warrants on Oct. 18.

Alexander Perry, 34, was apprehended as a Fugitive from Justice from the State of Connecticut.

Perry, whose last known address was listed as 10 Montgomery Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island, was taken into custody following an extensive investigation by both the ACI Investigations Unit and the ACI Records and Identification Unit.

After appearing in Third District Court, Perry waived extradition proceedings and was ordered to be held at the ACI pending his transfer back to Connecticut.

The same day, Jason Abdullah, 39, was arrested at his residence on 143 Third Street, Newport, Rhode Island.

Abdullah faced charges of Violation of Community Supervision, stemming from an Affidavit / Arrest Warrant issued by the State Police ACI Investigations Unit.

The arrest was a result of collaborative work between the Rhode Island Parole Board and the ACI Investigations Unit.

Abdullah was arraigned at Third District Court, where he pled guilty to the charges.

He was sentenced to one year of probation.
