Lyndonville man arrested for vehicle theft, passenger on warrant

LYNDONVILLE — On the night of October 18, the Lyndonville Police Department apprehended two men following a vehicle stop on South Wheelock Road.

Officers Renaudette and Gerrish conducted a stop of a white 2021 Subaru Outback, which had been reported stolen the previous day from Center Tower in St. Johnsbury.

The operator, identified as 45-year-old Jonathan Rutledge from Kirby, was found to be in violation of release conditions and operating the vehicle with a criminally suspended license due to a prior DUI.

Rutledge was arrested and is being held at Northeast Regional Correctional Facility on a $5,000 bail.

He is scheduled for arraignment at Caledonia Superior Court on Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.

Adriano Dimartino, a 24-year-old passenger from St. Johnsbury, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.

He has been lodged at the correctional facility in lieu of $100 bail.

The stolen vehicle, belonging to 38-year-old Louis Lacroix of St. Johnsbury, was recovered and towed by Caledonia Wrecker Service.
