Hartford man arrested on lewd conduct, threatening charges

HARTFORD — Hartford Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division on Oct. 18 arrested 42-year-old Joseph Vaillancourt for lewd and lascivious conduct with a child and criminal threatening, following an investigation that began in September.

Det. Sgt. Scott Moody reported that Vaillancourt, a Hartford resident, was arraigned at Windsor County Superior Court-Criminal Division and is being held without bail.

In the course of the investigation, the Hartford Police Department, including the CID and Patrol Division, executed multiple search warrants at Vaillancourt’s residence immediately after his arrest.

During the searches, law enforcement found potential evidence pertinent to the charges, along with a significant quantity of marijuana, suspected methamphetamine, and 12 firearms.

The Hartford Police Department, led by Chief Gregory Sheldon, emphasizes the protection of victims’ identities and has not released any information regarding the victim.

Authorities have stated that the investigation is still active and ongoing, and no additional details are currently available.
