Greenfield man arrested in hit-and-run that injured two pedestrians

GREENFIELD — A Greenfield man was arrested Saturday in connection with a hit-and-run incident that left two pedestrians with serious injuries, police said.

The incident occurred on Country Club Road near Barton Road on Friday at approximately 3:34 p.m. The Greenfield Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene where two individuals were found injured and subsequently taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.

Following a swift investigation led by Detective Timothy Cooley, 55-year-old Vladimir Sinigur, a resident of Greenfield, was taken into custody.

Sinigur faces charges including two counts of hit-and-run personal injury, one count of hit-and-run property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

The Greenfield Police Department updated the arrest information at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 19 to include the name of the arrestee, who is currently being held in connection with the incident.

Further details regarding the case or the condition of the victims have not been released at this time.
