BOSTON — Two suspects were arrested and two firearms recovered early Saturday morning following a shooting incident in Roxbury, according to the Boston Police Department.

At about 4:12 a.m., on Oct. 19, officers from District B-2 responded to reports of gunfire detected by Shot Spotter technology and numerous 911 calls near 57 Burrell Street.

Upon arrival, police found ballistic damage to two buildings and recovered ballistic evidence at the scene.

Although apartments were checked, no injuries were reported.

During a search for suspects, officers spotted Lexus Meade, 29, of Roxbury, and Claudio Lopes, 28, of Lynn, crouching behind a dumpster at 570 Dudley Street.

As police engaged with one suspect, the other fled, attempting to conceal himself behind a parked vehicle.

Despite commands to halt, the suspect continued to walk away rapidly and subsequently resisted arrest when officers caught up.

Two firearms, a Rockledge 38 Special with five spent shell casings and a Smith and Wesson SD9 VE with an unloaded magazine, were discovered near the dumpster.

Both Meade and Lopes face charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

Lopes has also been charged with Resisting Arrest.

They are scheduled for arraignment in Roxbury District Court.
