Boston police arrest man with large amounts of fentanyl, crack cocaine

BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Roxbury division arrested a man early Friday on charges of drug trafficking following a traffic stop for an expired vehicle registration.

At about 12:15 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 18, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) noticed a vehicle with expired tags near the intersection of Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue.

They initiated a traffic stop using their emergency lights and siren.

After pulling the vehicle over, officers instructed the driver, identified as Lorenzo Myers, 37, of Boston, to exit because the vehicle would be towed.

During the subsequent inventory search of the vehicle, officers discovered three plastic bags containing a substance believed to be Fentanyl, along with a digital scale.

The search further revealed fourteen bags of Marijuana, another digital scale, numerous empty plastic bags, and $592 in U.S. currency.

Upon searching Myers, officers found three additional bags of Crack Cocaine.

The drugs were later weighed, revealing 31 grams of Fentanyl and 40 grams of Crack Cocaine.

Myers was arrested and charged with Trafficking of Class A, Trafficking of Class B, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D.

His arraignment is set to take place in Roxbury District Court.
