BETHEL — A Windsor County Sheriff’s Department deputy apprehended a Bethel man with an active arrest warrant and a stolen firearm during a vehicle stop on Oct. 18.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Deputy Lewis noticed a suspicious vehicle idling on Findley Bridge Road.

Although the vehicle left as the deputy arrived, contact was made shortly after in Randolph with the operator, identified as Tyler Taitague, of Bethel.

Taitague was found to have a criminally suspended license and an active arrest warrant from the State of New Hampshire.

During the investigation, a firearm was discovered in Taitague’s possession.

He was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior felony convictions, and the firearm was also listed as stolen.

The vehicle driven by Taitague was seized pending a search warrant application.

Despite the active out-of-state warrant, Taitague was not extraditable to New Hampshire.

He was processed at the Randolph Police Department and released on a citation.

Taitague is scheduled to appear for arraignment on the charges in Orange County Superior Court on Nov. 20 at 8 a.m. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be filed pending the application and execution of the search warrant.

The Windsor County Sheriff’s Department expressed gratitude to the Randolph Police Department for their assistance in the arrest.
