Danvers teen arrested in connection with middle school attack

DANVERS — A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of assault following an attack at Holten Richmond Middle School/Plains Park, the Danvers Police Department announced Friday.

Authorities obtained an arrest warrant for the juvenile on Oct. 18 and took him into custody later that day at about 1:30 p.m. He faces charges including two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery to intimidate based on disability, and assault and battery on a person with an intellectual disability.

The incident, which took place on Oct. 12, prompted an immediate response from local law enforcement.

The Danvers Police Department has stated that they are working closely with the Essex County District Attorney’s Office as the investigation continues.

Officials have emphasized the serious nature of the allegations, particularly the charges related to disability-based intimidation and assault.
