On Oct. 5, at about 11:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to an address on Maynard Ave following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, they found a male victim with gunshot wounds.

The officers provided immediate medical assistance, including applying a tourniquet to stem the bleeding, until Webster EMS arrived and transported the victim to UMASS University Hospital in stable condition.

The victim’s statement to officers reportedly conflicted with the evidence found at the scene, prompting further investigation.

The investigation led to the procurement of a search warrant for the property.

During the search, officers found suspected illegal drugs, various types of ammunition, and two firearms, one of which is believed to have been used in the shooting.

Authorities have stated that the shooting does not appear to be a random act and the investigation is ongoing.

The Webster Police Department is urging anyone with information related to this incident to contact Detective Timothy Whiting or Officer Alex Johnson at (508) 943-1212.
