Water pump theft at Alburg camp under investigation

ALBURG — The Vermont State Police are investigating after Shauna Clifford, 56, of St. Johnsbury reported a break-in at her camp on Pumphouse Lane S where a water pump, filter system, and pressure tank were stolen.

Clifford discovered the theft on Oct. 12 at 9:31 a.m. and immediately contacted the authorities.

The incident is believed to have occurred on the evening of Oct. 2 when suspicious activity was caught on a neighboring camp’s camera system.

The footage showed an individual with a flashlight near the property at around 9:04 p.m. Minutes later, at approximately 9:11 p.m., a dark-colored SUV, possibly a newer model Dodge Durango, was seen approaching and then leaving the property at 9:13 p.m.

The suspect’s description could not be determined from the video.

State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual or vehicle involved in the crime.
