Norwalk man arrested for solicitation of a minor

NORWALK — A Norwalk man has been arrested on charges of soliciting a minor after an investigation by local police into allegations that a 14-year-old was engaged in inappropriate sexual conversations.

The Norwalk Police Department received a complaint on May 7 and the Special Victims Unit detectives looked into the matter, identifying 32-year-old Keon Salmond as the suspect.

Following the investigation, which established probable cause, an arrest warrant was issued and approved.

Salmond was taken into custody at his residence on Oct. 16 without incident.

He is currently facing charges including Risk of Injury and Impairing Morals of a Child, and Harmful Communication with a Minor.

Salmond, of 6 Auburn St., is being held on a $100,000 bond.

A court date has been set for Oct. 30.
