EAST BRIDGEWATER — A local man faces charges after East Bridgewater Police recovered a stolen car and arrested him for receiving stolen property and resisting arrest, authorities said Wednesday.
Mohamed Jalloh, 24, of East Bridgewater, was taken into custody on Tuesday after police linked him to a Nissan Altima reported parked suspiciously near a residence for several days.
The initial call came in on Oct. 15 around 6 a.m., with the resident describing an unoccupied vehicle and a man seen sitting inside it on previous days.
Officers identified the car as stolen and planned to tow it for further investigation.
At about 9:19 a.m., while patrolling the area of Whitman and East Streets, police spotted Jalloh, who matched the description provided by the caller, walking near where the vehicle had been found.
Known to the police, Jalloh allegedly ignored commands when approached by officers, resulting in additional police units responding to arrest him.
Upon searching Jalloh, officers found he possessed a key fob to a Nissan Altima, which was confirmed to be for the stolen vehicle.
Following his arraignment in Brockton District Court on Wednesday, Jalloh is currently held without bail due to previous charges.
Jalloh’s next court date is pending, and he remains innocent until proven guilty.
