CAMBRIDGE — A Richford man was charged with grand larceny after allegedly stealing an ATV from a Cambridge resident, Vermont State Police reported.

Trevor Patch, 30, is accused of taking the all-terrain vehicle from James Spanier, 50, on April 10 at 7:46 a.m. The theft occurred at Spanier’s residence along VT Route 15, police said.

According to authorities, Spanier reported the theft after a friend informed him that the ATV was missing.

The investigation revealed that Spanier and Patch had arranged a meeting for Patch to consider buying the ATV.

Patch visited but did not complete the purchase.

Police said that days later, Patch, with assistance from friends, stole the ATV while Spanier was not home.

Patch was located in Berkshire and cited to appear in the Lamoille County Court Criminal Division on Dec. 4 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the grand larceny charge.
