Hingham police identify suspect in Derby Street Shops assault

HINGHAM — Hingham Police have identified a suspect in connection with two counts of assault and battery at the Derby Street Shops on Monday, Oct. 14.

Officers were called to the scene after reports of a male suspect assaulting two individuals in separate locations within the shopping center.

The assailant reportedly approached each victim unprovoked and struck them, causing both to fall to the ground.

The suspect fled towards Derby Street and was not apprehended at the scene.

The two victims sustained minor injuries and confirmed they did not know the identity of their attacker.

Despite a search of the area, the suspect remained at large immediately following the incident.

Through their investigation, police have named Mark Buntrock, 43, of 248 S Windsor St, South Royalton, as the suspect.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Buntrock out of Hingham District Court on two counts of assault and battery.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Buntrock’s whereabouts to contact the Hingham Police Department.
