Groton man arrested for DUI, operating without consent in Danville

DANVILLE — In the early hours of Sunday, Vermont State Police arrested 20-year-old Xavier Holloway of Groton, Connecticut, for allegedly operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent and driving under the influence.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury barracks responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on US Route 2 in Danville.

The vehicle had been reported stolen by the St. Johnsbury Police Department.

Upon locating the vehicle and its operator, police determined that Holloway was under the influence of alcohol.

The vehicle’s owner, 46-year-old Jessica May of Concord, had not given Holloway permission to use the vehicle.

Following the investigation, Holloway was taken into custody without incident.

Holloway now faces charges of operating without the consent of the owner and DUI.

He is due to appear in court to answer to these charges.
