Williamstown man charged with DUI, negligent operation after crash

WILLIAMSTOWN — A local man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and negligent operation following a vehicle crash on the afternoon of Oct. 13.

Vermont State Police responded to the accident at the intersection of Brockway Hill Road and VT Route 14 at approximately 2:21 p.m.

The driver, identified as 57-year-old Louis Gaudette of Williamstown, had been transported to Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) by emergency medical services prior to the arrival of the troopers.

Upon making contact with Gaudette at the hospital, state police observed signs of impairment.

Gaudette was processed for DUI and subsequently received a citation to appear in the Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division to face the charges.

The incident caused temporary disruptions in the area as authorities managed the crash scene.

Further details on the incident or any potential injuries sustained have not been released at this time.

Gaudette is scheduled to appear in court to answer to the charges.
