NORWELL — Officers from the Norwell Police Department responded to a reported vehicle theft at 7:55 a.m. today after a resident discovered their car missing from their driveway.

The theft occurred overnight in a residential neighborhood.

The stolen vehicle was later found parked in Quincy.

Authorities noted that the car had been left unlocked with the keys inside, which likely facilitated the theft.

The Norwell Police Department issued a statement reminding residents to always lock their vehicles, even when parked in their driveways, and to refrain from leaving keys or valuable items inside their cars.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The Norwell Police Department extended their gratitude to the Quincy Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and Plymouth County Bureau of Criminal Investigation for their assistance in recovering the vehicle.
