Providence man arrested on multiple drug charges, driving without license

PROVIDENCE — A Providence man was arrested Friday afternoon on various drug charges and driving infractions following a traffic stop by the Rhode Island State Police.

At 1:18 p.m., troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks apprehended Savon Q. Walker, 23, of 38 Arch Street, Apartment 1, for allegedly manufacturing, delivering, and possessing with intent to deliver Schedule I/II controlled substances, including 5.1 grams of crack cocaine and 6.1 grams of fentanyl.

Walker was also charged with driving in possession of controlled substances and operating a vehicle without a valid license for the fourth or subsequent offense.

The arrest occurred on Gaspee Street after state police conducted a motor vehicle stop.

Walker was taken to the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing.

He was later transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.
