PLYMOUTH — Plymouth Police Officers responded last night to reports of gunfire and a vehicle shooting near Wolcott Road and Country Garden Court around 10:15 p.m.

After a local resident reported hearing what sounded like gunshots, police were dispatched to the scene.

Simultaneously, Litchfield County Dispatch alerted the Wolcott Police Department of a related incident at the Cumberland Farms at 723 Wolcott Road, where a white Subaru WRX had been shot at.

Plymouth officers arrived at the Wolcott convenience store and discovered the Subaru with multiple bullet holes.

The driver, who was alone in the car, was unharmed.

Witnesses described the suspect’s vehicle as a gunmetal gray sedan, possibly a 2020 or newer Toyota Camry, with distinctive black trim on the trunk and a Connecticut license plate.

The Plymouth Police Department urges anyone with information regarding the vehicle or any other details that could assist the investigation to contact them at (860)-589-7779.

Authorities believe this may have been an isolated incident potentially related to road rage.

They advise against engaging with aggressive drivers, recommending no eye contact and to call 911 if threatened.

For safety, those involved should drive to a public area like a police station or hospital.

The investigation is ongoing, and the department will issue updates as new information emerges.
