RAYMOND — A pickup truck rollover on Route 101 resulted in a DUI charge for the driver last night.

State Troopers from Troop A barracks were dispatched at about 6:30 p.m. Friday to a crash between exits four and three on Route 101 eastbound, where they discovered a pickup truck that had veered off the road into the median and rolled over.

The driver, 41-year-old James Miller from Weare, sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive.

He was the only person in the vehicle and was taken to Elliot Hospital by emergency medical services.

The crash caused the pickup’s cab to detach from the chassis, and the cleanup effort led to traffic delays for around an hour and a half.

Assisting at the scene were the Raymond Police Department, Raymond Fire Department, Candia Fire Rescue, and Auburn Fire Department.

Investigators, suspecting impairment played a role in the incident, have charged Miller with driving under the influence and a solid line violation.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities urge witnesses or those with pertinent information to contact Trooper Jacob Hunt at (603) 271-3636.
