Wellfleet community mourns loss of local flower shop owner in fatal crash

WELLFLEET — In a tragic turn of events, a well-known Eastham resident and local business owner, Sheila Kelley, was pronounced dead following a two-vehicle collision on Route Six near Lecount Hollow Road on Thursday morning.

Police and fire departments responded to the scene around 6:52 a.m. after receiving reports of the accident.

A 2006 box delivery truck, driven by a 60-year-old Worcester man, collided with Kelley’s 2020 Toyota Sienna van.

Kelley, 63, was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the delivery truck sustained injuries and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital; the extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

Kelley, who owned a flower shop in Wellfleet, was a cherished member of the community.

The Wellfleet Police Department extended condolences to her family and friends, acknowledging the impact she had on the lives she touched.

The Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction team has taken the lead on the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
