ROCKINGHAM — A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 91 North left one driver injured and caused a temporary lane closure on Oct. 10.

Vermont State Police responded to the crash at mile marker 33 around 2:46 p.m., where they discovered that a 2000 Volvo S70, driven by 25-year-old Elaina Jendrzewski of Bellows Falls, had rear-ended a 1995 Ford F-350 operated by 42-year-old Michael Anderson of Putney.

According to the investigation, Jendrzewski was traveling at a high rate of speed and too close to the Ford, resulting in the Volvo striking the rear of the truck.

The impact caused Anderson’s vehicle to swerve erratically before Jendrzewski’s Volvo spun out, hitting the Ford again and then the bank.

Jendrzewski, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Emergency responders transported Jendrzewski to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries via DHART Helicopter.

Anderson did not sustain injuries in the incident.

The Volvo was totaled, and the Ford sustained moderate damage.

The Rockingham Fire Department, Golden Cross ambulance service, Twinline Towing, and Rods Mobil provided on-scene assistance.

The crash investigation required the closure of the driving lane of I-91 North, but the lane has since been reopened.
