COHASSET — Cohasset police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in the swindling of a local business out of a $43,000 vehicle.
Authorities have released images of the suspect and urge anyone with information to email [email protected] or call 781-383-1212.
In connection with the case, Cohasset police detectives arrested Sherlyn C. Sanabia, 22, at her Haverhill residence on Thursday morning.
Sanabia appeared in district court facing multiple charges including larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony, receiving stolen property, conspiracy (three counts), and misleading a police investigation.
The arrest followed a month-long investigation led by Cohasset Detective Julie Hall and Detective Lieutenant Michael Lopes.
The team’s efforts included obtaining and executing several search warrants for electronic data concerning the vehicle theft and other possible criminal activities.
Cohasset Police Chief William Quigley praised the detectives for their diligent work. “An incredible amount of work goes into cases like this, and these two detectives went above and beyond.
We also thank the Haverhill police for their help and assistance,” Quigley said in a statement.
The investigation is ongoing and active.
The stolen vehicle, a white 2022 Audi SQ5 sport utility, has yet to be located.
