BOSTON — A suspect wanted in connection with a series of breaking and entering incidents was arrested in Roxbury early Friday morning after a brief chase and scooter crash, authorities said.
Boston Police Department officers from District B-2 apprehended 36-year-old Misael Fuentes of Dorchester at about 12:42 a.m. near the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Southwood Street.
Fuentes was identified as the individual linked to a spate of property crimes on Shetland Street, according to a Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC) flyer.
While patrolling the area, officers noticed Fuentes, who matched the description of the suspect.
When they attempted to engage him, Fuentes fled on an electric scooter.
The pursuit ended when he lost control and collided with a chain link fence at 19 Forest Street.
Despite attempting to flee on foot after the crash, Fuentes was swiftly taken into custody.
An inquiry into Fuentes’ identity confirmed he had five active warrants for various breaking and entering charges.
He now faces additional charges, including Leaving the Scene of Property Damage and Failure to Stop for Police.
Fuentes is expected to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court.
Detectives investigating the case have linked Fuentes to the break-ins on Shetland Street and are pursuing further criminal complaints against him.
