NEW LONDON — A serious motor vehicle accident involving two scooters near the Cedar Grove cemetery entrance left one man in critical condition and another with non-life-threatening injuries on Oct. 9.
New London Police and Fire departments responded to the scene on Broad Street at approximately 10:56 a.m. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found an unresponsive male in the roadway and provided immediate medical attention.
The critically injured man was subsequently transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.
The second male scooter operator involved in the collision was also taken to the hospital; his injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
The area around Broad Street was active with investigation efforts as the New London Police worked to determine the specifics of the incident.
Police have not released the names of the individuals involved.
As the investigation remains ongoing, the New London Police Detective Bureau is urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident to come forward.
