WEST RUTLAND — Vermont State Police arrested a local man on a charge of domestic assault late Tuesday evening.
Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Main Street at about 8:11 p.m.
Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, they determined that 40-year-old Ryan McNamara had caused pain and/or bodily injury to a family or household member.
McNamara was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.
Following his arrest, a Judicial Officer set conditions for McNamara’s release.
McNamara received a citation to appear at Rutland Superior Court – Criminal Division on Oct. 9 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the charge.
The identity of the victim has not been released by authorities, in accordance with Vermont State Police policy on domestic assault cases.
