Bath police seek suspects in vehicle thefts, firearm stolen

BATH — Late Saturday night and into the early hours of Sunday, Bath Police Department responded to multiple reports of theft from motor vehicles and one stolen vehicle in the Tower Circle area.

At least three individuals were captured on surveillance cameras during the incidents.

Among the stolen items was a firearm, raising concerns about public safety.

The police are also looking for a brown 2011 VW Jetta with Maine registration 1079YJ, which was reported stolen.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the thefts, the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle, or who can identify the suspects to contact Bath Police Department.

Detective Sergeant Rick Ross is heading the investigation.

While such incidents are uncommon in Bath, the police remind residents to take precautions to prevent theft.

The community is advised to lock their doors, avoid leaving valuables unsecured in vehicles, and to store firearms responsibly to deter potential thefts.
