Ansonia man arrested on child pornography charges

ANSONIA — A 27-year-old Ansonia man turned himself in to police Tuesday following a lengthy investigation into child pornography.

Michael Bernaud was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography, two counts of enticing a minor by computer and two counts of risk of injury to a minor, the Ansonia Police Department said.

Detective Mark Clifford led the investigation, which involved multiple law enforcement agencies across the United States and internationally.

Bernaud is being held on $150,000 bond and is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday at Derby Superior Court.

Ansonia Police Chief Wayne Williams expressed gratitude to the Monroe Police Department, Police Scotland, Collin County Sheriff’s Office in Texas, Muscatine Police Department in Iowa, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina, and the Vermont State Police for their assistance in the investigation.
