PLAINFIELD — A local man was charged in connection with the overdose death of a Plainfield woman, Vermont State Police reported.

Authorities responded to the scene at a residence on 557 East Hill Road on Jan. 8 at 3:41 p.m. following the death of Elizabeth Visocan, 26.

The initial investigation suggested that Visocan died from a drug overdose, which was later confirmed by autopsy and toxicology reports to be a mixture of fentanyl and xylazine.

Through the course of their investigation, police determined that the fatal drugs were supplied to Visocan by Michael Wilder, 40, of Worcester.

Wilder was cited on July 10 to appear in Washington Superior Court Criminal Division on Nov. 7 at 8:30 a.m. to face the charge of Dispensing a Regulated Drug with Death Resulting.

Wilder has been released pending his court appearance.
