Multi-agency operation leads to drug bust, arrests in Old Orchard Beach

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — A coordinated effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies led to the seizure of a significant amount of drugs and resulted in several arrests on Oct. 4.

The Old Orchard Beach Police Department, working in collaboration with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Biddeford Police Department, Saco Police Department, Maine State Probation and Parole, York County Emergency Management Agency, Southern Maine Special Response Team, and Cumberland County Emergency Services Unit, executed a search warrant and conducted proactive patrols in the town at 10 p.m.

The operation yielded over 250 grams of suspected narcotics, a variety of prescription pills, 2 grams of fentanyl, and a considerable amount of suspected drug money.

Authorities also found scales, packaging materials, and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

One individual was medically assessed after trying to swallow crack cocaine to destroy evidence during the warrant execution.

Casandra Parker, 35, of Gray, was apprehended for probation revocation and an outstanding warrant.

Philip Stanley, 33, of Saco, faced arrest for 11 outstanding warrants.

Andy Lafontant, 32, of Augusta, was taken into custody for class C unlawful trafficking of schedule drugs.

Benjamin Hammac, 37, of East Haven, Connecticut, was released on a summons for class D possession of schedule W drugs, which included Fentanyl.

Parker was booked into York County Jail with bail set at $200 for her warrant and probation revocation.

Stanley’s bail was set at $45,450 at the same facility for his numerous warrants.

Lafontant’s bail was set at $10,000, while Hammac was released on a summons.
