Boston police arrest man, seize drugs and gun in Dorchester raid

BOSTON — Boston police arrested a Dorchester man and seized drugs, a firearm, and cash during a narcotics investigation on Saturday afternoon.

At 1:59 p.m., on Oct. 5, members of the District E-5 (West Roxbury) and District C-11 (Dorchester) Drug Control Units arrested 24-year-old Almani Vasquez, of Dorchester, for firearm and drug-related offenses following the execution of a search warrant at his residence at 1 Melbourne St.

During the search, officers recovered a Beretta Pico .380 caliber firearm with one round in the chamber and another in the magazine, a high-capacity feeding device, additional ammunition, quantities of cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, as well as drug packaging and measuring equipment, cutting agents, and an undisclosed sum of U.S. currency.

Vasquez is expected to face charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance (Cocaine), and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class C Substance (Psilocybin Mushrooms) at his arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
