MORETOWN — A three-vehicle collision on VT RT 100 near Old Talc Mine Rd. resulted in one totaled car but no injuries on April 10, authorities said.
At about 5 p.m., Vermont State Police, Waitsfield Fire Department, and Mad River Valley Ambulance Service responded to a call about the accident.
Initial investigations revealed Wallace Dasilva, 27, of Moretown, had to brake abruptly to avoid hitting a vehicle that stopped to make a turn.
This sudden stop led to Savannah Fulton, 16, from Waterbury, crashing into Dasilva’s rear end, causing minor damage to both their Jeeps.
Subsequently, Grace Durrell, also 16 and a Moretown resident, was unable to stop her Hyundai Kona in time, leading to a collision with Fulton’s vehicle, which resulted in the Kona being declared totaled.
Despite the severity of the crash, all drivers were wearing seatbelts, and no injuries were reported at the scene.
All parties declined medical transport, and no vehicle condition violations were issued as no one was found at fault.
The incident caused VT RT 100 to be narrowed down to one lane as crews worked to clear the scene.
Traffic returned to normal after the vehicles were removed, and the road was reopened to two-way travel.
