Holden man arrested after police standoff, charged with domestic violence assault

HOLDEN — A domestic dispute led to a standoff early Saturday morning, ending with the arrest of a 32-year-old Holden man on felony domestic violence charges.

Authorities were called to a residence at 904 Eastern Avenue around 1:35 a.m. following reports of a family fight.

Upon arrival, police identified the suspect as Wilbur Corson, who was inside the home and refused to come out.

The Holden Police Department secured a search warrant and collaborated with the Brewer Police Department and the Maine State Police Tactical Team to address the situation.

The tactical team successfully apprehended Corson without further incident.

Corson was transported to the Penobscot County Jail where he was charged with felony domestic violence assault.

The incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
