WELLS — A 42-year-old man was charged with domestic assault after Vermont State Police responded to a family fight Wednesday evening.
Troopers from the Rutland Barracks arrived at the scene in Wells at about 6:28 p.m. after receiving reports of the altercation.
Following their investigation, they concluded that Nikia Mahar had inflicted pain and injury on a member of his household.
Mahar was cited to appear before the Rutland County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
The Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim in accordance with their policy on cases involving sexual assault or domestic violence.
