ENOSBURGH — Vermont State Police are on the hunt for a suspect following a suspicious death Friday morning that left one person dead and another hospitalized.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Jordan Lawyer of Enosburgh, is believed to be driving a black 2015 Jeep Cherokee with Vermont license plate HXL 565.
The vehicle was last seen around 9:30 a.m. on Route 108 in Bakersfield.
Authorities urge the public to call 911 or the nearest police agency upon sighting the Jeep or Lawyer and to avoid approaching.
The incident was reported at approximately 8:45 a.m. after a call about a disturbance at a home on West Enosburgh Road.
Police discovered one individual dead outside the residence, while another was transported to the hospital.
Investigators from the Major Crime Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene Search Team, Field Force Division and Victim Services Unit of the Vermont State Police are involved in the preliminary stages of the investigation.
The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death after the Crime Scene Search Team processes the scene.
Names of the deceased and the hospitalized individual will be disclosed once identities are confirmed and next of kin have been notified.
