Rockingham man arrested for grand larceny, vehicle theft

ROCKINGHAM — A transient Rockingham man was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly stealing a vehicle from a local business, according to Vermont State Police.

At about 8:08 a.m., police responded to a report from Dan David Sales Inc. that a male had stolen a vehicle from the Bart Energy LLC lot at Transport Park.

Charlestown Police Department officers located the stolen vehicle on River Road in Charlestown, New Hampshire.

The driver, identified as Joshua A. Pelton Sr., 39, was taken into custody without incident.

Pelton faces charges of operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent and grand larceny.

He was processed at the Charlestown Police Department and issued a criminal citation.

Pelton is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on Oct. 29 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charges.
