Pownal woman charged with petit larceny for stealing crossbow

POWNAL — A local woman has been accused of stealing a crossbow from her parents’ residence in a case of alleged petit larceny, Vermont State Police reported.

Savannah Stanley, 24, of Bennington, allegedly took the crossbow from a home on Blueberry Hill without the knowledge or permission of her father, Michael Stanley, 61, also of Pownal.

The theft was reported to the Shaftsbury Barracks at 1:20 p.m. on Sept. 24.

State troopers responded to the complaint and were able to recover the crossbow and return it to the owner shortly after the incident.

Following the investigation, Savannah Stanley was issued a criminal citation on Oct. 2.

She is scheduled to appear at the Bennington Superior Court – Criminal Division on Nov. 18 to answer to the charge of Petit Larceny.
