At about 10:28 p.m., on Oct. 2, officers from District C-11 were dispatched to 1604 Dorchester Avenue after reports surfaced of an individual brandishing a gun.
The police were informed that a moped theft victim had located the suspects at a nearby gas station.
When the victim confronted them, one of the suspects pointed a firearm at him before both suspects fled toward Bourneside Street.
The Youth Violence Strike Force successfully apprehended one suspect, a 17-year-old male juvenile, near the intersection of Park Street and Marlowe Street.
Meanwhile, officers continued the search and found the second suspect, identified as 18-year-old Jeremiah Charles of Abington, hiding beneath a parked vehicle on Bourneside Street.
During the search of the suspects’ escape route, officers recovered a Glock 22 handgun with a round in the chamber and thirteen rounds in the magazine.
The juvenile was arrested and faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, a large capacity feeding device, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and making threats to commit a crime.
Charles was arrested on charges of trespassing, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, and threatening to commit a crime.
Both suspects are slated for arraignment at Dorchester District Court.
