TROY — A collision between a Ford truck and a horse-drawn buggy on Vermont Route 100 left one person with non-life-threatening injuries yesterday.
At 5:52 p.m., Vermont State Police were called to the scene where Jonathan Couture, 22, of Troy, driving southbound in a 2014 Ford truck, struck the rear of the buggy, which was also traveling south.
The operator of the buggy, Elias Stoltzfus, 19, of Newport Center, was transported to North Country Hospital for treatment.
The buggy was totaled, while the truck sustained front-end damage.
Police say the horse pulling the buggy suffered minor injuries but is expected to recover.
Authorities cited the setting sun as a contributing factor to the collision.
The Vermont State Police continue to investigate the incident.
