YARMOUTH — A vehicle unexpectedly plowed into the Yarmouth Port Post Office on Wednesday after a 2013 Cadillac accelerated across a parking lot and into the building’s lobby, police said.
The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. when the car, driven by an elderly individual, smashed through the front entrance of the post office located on Main Street.
According to the Yarmouth Police Department, the vehicle came to a stop almost entirely inside the lobby area.
Miraculously, no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
The driver, whose identity has not been released, was unharmed and did not require medical attention at the scene.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
They have not yet determined what caused the Cadillac to accelerate through the parking space and into the building.
