Boston teen arrested in connection with Roxbury carjacking

BOSTON — Members of the Fugitive Unit arrested 18-year-old Jason Douglas of Quincy at about 3 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the Tyler Street area of Quincy on a warrant for his alleged involvement in a carjacking incident in Roxbury, according to the Boston Police Department.

Douglas is facing charges of carjacking, two counts of attempt to commit a crime, and three counts of threat to commit a crime, as stated in the warrant issued by Roxbury District Court.

He is set to be arraigned at the same court.

The incident leading to his arrest occurred around 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 18, when officers from District B-2 in Roxbury responded to a report of a carjacking at 58 Annunciation Road.

The victim reported being threatened with shooting by two males who then stole their car.

The vehicle was later involved in a crash, and the suspects fled on foot.

A second attempt at carjacking was reported at about 7:45 p.m. the same evening near 41 McGreevy Way.

The female victim told officers that a male attempted to enter her vehicle but failed.

The suspect then approached another occupied vehicle and managed to flee towards Parker Street.

The police investigation eventually led to the apprehension of Douglas.
