Boston police arrest man for firearm possession after dispute

BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District B-3 apprehended a 50-year-old man Tuesday night in connection with a firearm threat during a verbal altercation.

At about 10:48 p.m., police responded to a radio call reporting a dispute at 9 Vera St. in Dorchester.

Upon arrival, officers were informed by the victim that Lonnie Daniels, of Jamaica Plain, had threatened to shoot her and was in possession of a firearm.

Daniels, who was found standing next to his unregistered motorcycle, was detained for questioning.

The subsequent investigation led to the discovery of a Glock 43x with a loaded magazine and a round in the chamber hidden in a storage compartment of his motorcycle.

Daniels is facing charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm in Public, and Threat to Commit a Crime.

He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
