EVERETT — Two men were arrested and a cache of drugs was seized following a routine traffic stop by Everett police early Saturday morning.

George Krabey III, 46, of Saugus, and Richard Evers, 46, of Revere, were taken into custody after Officer Uga, on patrol, spotted a speeding vehicle.

Upon checking the vehicle’s registration, it was discovered that the registration had been revoked due to an insurance issue.

Officer Uga, with assistance from Officer Balduino, initiated a stop for the infractions.

During the stop, Krabey, the vehicle’s owner, admitted to having “weed in a bag” and revealed a blue bag containing multiple pre-rolled bags of marijuana, a scale, and plastic bags.

Following an exit order, Uga conducted a further search and found over an ounce of the substance.

A comprehensive search of the vehicle led to the discovery of what officers believed to be heroin, cocaine, crack, oxycontin, meth, suboxone, THC cartridges, pre-packaged marijuana, hashish, two scales, plastic bags, and $2,503 in cash.

The suspects were charged with drug trafficking and distribution-related offenses.

They were apprehended without incident and arraigned Monday in Malden District Court.
