Dunbarton police arrest two for DWI, find suspected fentanyl

DUNBARTON — Dunbarton police officers arrested two individuals on DWI charges Friday, one of whom was found with a quantity of suspected fentanyl.

The first arrest occurred at approximately 1:40 p.m. after an officer on patrol discovered a vehicle parked on the side of Black Brook Road with the driver slumped over the steering wheel.

The roadside investigation resulted in the driver’s arrest for operating under the influence of drugs or liquor.

Police also recovered a quantity of suspected fentanyl from the vehicle, leading to additional charges.

Later in the evening, at around 9:20 p.m., a second officer carrying out traffic enforcement on Concord Stage Road pulled over a vehicle with lane control issues.

The driver was arrested for DWI, resisting arrest/detention, and other charges following another roadside investigation.
