Winchendon man arrested after alleged machete attack

WINCHENDON — A Winchendon man was arrested Monday after allegedly assaulting another man with a machete, knife and black powder firearm, police said.

Peter Baldini was taken into custody outside his home on Brooks Road following negotiations with the Massachusetts State Police STOP Team, according to the Winchendon Police Department.

Officers responded to 17 Brooks Rd. at 3:45 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault.

The victim told police he had been held captive and attacked with multiple weapons.

No injuries were reported during the incident or arrest.

Baldini faces charges including two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, and one count of kidnapping.

He will be arraigned in Winchendon District Court.

Additional charges of possession of ammunition without an FID and possession of a large capacity magazine are pending, police said.
