Rhode Island State Police make late-night arrests in Exeter

EXETER — Two individuals were taken into custody by the Rhode Island State Police following separate traffic stops in Coventry and Exeter early Monday morning.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., Troopers arrested 23-year-old Kayla E. Murray of West Warwick, Rhode Island, for failing to stop in accidents resulting in vehicle damage.

Murray was apprehended during a vehicle stop on New London Turnpike in Coventry.

Following the arrest, she was taken to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing.

Murray was later arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a scheduled appearance at the Third Division District Court.

Less than two hours later, at 1:55 a.m., 53-year-old Steven P. Eaton of Taunton, Massachusetts, was arrested on Route 95 North in Exeter.

Eaton faced charges for possession of a controlled substance, identified as Adderall, which falls under Schedule I to V classification.

Post-arrest, Eaton was also transported to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing.

He was held to await morning arraignment at the Fourth Division District Court.
