EASTON — A 23-year-old man was charged with murder after his grandmother was found dead in her home, authorities said Thursday.
Cynthia Lanchester, 76, was discovered deceased with signs of blunt force trauma.
Her grandson, Joshua Lanchester, is accused of using a hammer to beat her to death.
Police responded to a 911 call at the Lanchester residence in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Upon arrival, officers found Cynthia Lanchester’s body and evidence of a violent altercation.
Joshua Lanchester was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
While motives for the attack have not been officially disclosed, law enforcement officials are proceeding with a thorough investigation.
